My Very First Scrapbooking Attempt August 1, 2008

I didn’t do any journalling (except to write the name and age of my son) but I was quite pleased with my first attempt at scrapbooking.

I love giving cards and so I find myself printing photos and putting them away to scrapbook “one day”.

Until our group of demonstrators challenged ourselves to make a scrapbook page I was still dubious about how satisfying it could be.  I’m sure I will do many more now I have begun.

This page was made using Stampin’ Up! ® designer papers called ‘Spring Break’.  I love tearing and because the papers are double sided and colour coordinated I could tear off a strip and simply turn it over to get two torn layers.

I used the Stampn’ Up!® ‘Wild About You’ set to stamp jungle creatures using a new 2008 In-Colour ‘Blue Bayou’ with ’Old Olive’ and ‘Only Orange’ ink pads and ‘Stampn’ Write Markers’.

I used the ‘Scallop Circle Punch’ and 3/4″ circle for the flowers and to punch out the birds.

I threaded Hemp Twine through eyelets to give the effect of a picture hanging from a rail and set the photo behind the torn strips of designer paper for some depth.  To create a border around the photo I used the Mat Pack and paper piercing tool which you cant quite see in the photo.

Overall, I’m quite pleased.  Hope you like it!
