Sparkle Giggle Happiness! August 1, 2008

This is the card I made for my eldest daughter’s 6th birthday.

I stamped the butterfly from the ‘Celebrate Everyday’ stamp set onto white cardstock with Versa Mark ink and daubed them using Stampin’ Pastels to give their wings a two toned look. Then I cut them out.  I used Versa Mark again to stamp tiny little butterflies from the ‘Sprinkles’ set all over the background of the Tempting Turquoise cardstock.

I used offcut strips of Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Lovely Lilac cardstock across the top and sides with a bit of tearing to add interest.  The stitched look I acheived using a Signo Pen in white.  The pierced strips were made using Mat Pack piercing template.

I made the tag using a tag punch and once again stamped it with the butterflies from the Sprinkles stamp set.  The silver thread is tied through two eyelets in the strip across the top and above that I have stamped words from the ‘Warm Words’ stamp set in Whisper White ink.

As a final extravagant touch I loosely looped and taped 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon up the left hand side and used Crystal Effects on the wings of the butterflies and dotted Stampn’ Glitter with a Glue Pen all over the background for the sparkle six year olds love.

And she did!!
